The Roast Hare (1921) - Lau Lauritzen

When the scatterbrained Nokkesens realize they’ve promised their intimidating in-laws, the Spidsmejers, a lavish roast hare dinner tonight—with zero hare, no time, and a locked game butcher—their patriarch embarks on a delirious odyssey through a town where logic drowns in the harbor. Mermaids trade riddles for favors, a corpulent terrier guards secrets, and a sly housekeeper’s “help” might be a curse in disguise. By the time the Spidsmejers arrive, the hare appears… but its origin threatens to unravel more than just the menu.
